For seniors, what are the advantages of
city living versus moving to a campus type
Today’s seniors are active and involved. They don’t
want to sit in a chair and rock the day away. Most
of our new residents are downsizing to be close
to friends and family in a vibrant, convenient,
accessible location. They’ve been looking for
something low or no maintenance where they can
forget about housekeeping, laundry and cooking
and enjoy this new chapter in their lives.
They’re excited to be moving to a place where
they can have a car but don’t need a car. At
Brightview, they can walk to restaurants, local
specialty shops, the theater, movies and more.
They can hop on the Circulator, take the Metro to
downtown D.C. and enjoy the local Bethesda trails.
A new lifestyle provides new energy. And although
many things are within arms’ reach, there’s plenty
to do right in the building.
What design elements and considerations
went into new construction for senior
Brightview Bethesda Woodmont is recognized as a
work of art by the American Institute of Architect’s
Design for Aging Review. Beyond the artistic, we
were also recognized for our multigenerational
elements, including a theater, coffee shop and
spa. The top floor of our community will have a
penthouse feel, with two rooftop decks, a fireplace
and the dining room and pub.
Every aspect of our community was designed
with our residents in mind. From the high-end
finishes to the large windows that create bright
spaces, residents can enjoy many amenities while
being part of an intimate community. Not only was
the design intended to serve and delight residents,
but also to be a place that they would feel proud to
invite friends, family and guests.
Brightview Bethesda Woodmont is opening its
