Although skill is at the top of the list for salons and spas, atmosphere is also important.
Owner Danny Sayag says, “I am a stickler for customer service.” The ;rst and last impression

Always on the lookout for the best of what’s available, New Wave offers new services and
client. Helping each other is the norm here. “I don't ask anything of my staff that I wouldn't
do myself,” he says, “like picking up a broom if a stylist is too busy at the moment to clean
up his or her area.”
“I am very proud when clients walk out feeling as good as they look,” says Sayag, “and I
know that success is a result of us working together.” It is also a result of the culture of the
salon. Employees at New Wave are offered respect, independence and opportunities for
techniques that make sense for their clients. Thirteen stylists are trained in Deva Cut, a new
method of dry-cutting curly hair. Permanent cosmetics, eyelash extensions, oxygen facials
and Thai massage are the most recent additions to the salon and spa menus.
