For 19 years, Aveda Bethesda has been passionate about helping men
and women look, feel and smell good. They’ve been voted one of the top
salons and spas in Bethesda Magazine’s “Best of Bethesda” Readers Poll
for the past 8 years. Clients are loyal to their highly trained and skilled
stylists and therapists, but a close second draw is the Aveda product line,
which is 97 percent naturally and organically derived.
In a bright, comfortable, environment with friendly staff, all salon and
spa services are customized for each individual and include a complimen-
tary makeup touch up, scalp massage and organic Comforting Tea.
The salon team takes advanced training classes several times a year.
They now offer Xtreme lash extensions and bamboo massages, said to
melt away stress, to the spa menu. Open seven days a week, appointments
can be made online or over the phone. To accommodate people with busy
schedules, Aveda opens at 6 a.m. and regularly has evening hours.

Salon Jean provides great hair and nails services, as well as makeup ap-
plication and massages, but they are also proud of the charity they started
three years ago.
“We started this charity because of our deep love for all animals and we
wanted a way to give back to our community,” says owner Jean Bae. “We
also wanted a way to get our clients involved.” Throughout August, September and October, they hold a photo contest. Clients vote for their favorite
pets; the winners are featured in the calendar.
To help offset the printing costs, some clients have become sponsors
and advertisers so that 100 percent of the profits go directly to the chari-
ties. The calendars, which go on sale at Thanksgiving time, retail for $20
and all the money goes directly to PetConnect Rescue of Potomac and the
Montgomery County Humane Society in Rockville.
